Montserrat (Catalunya). The customer sought data on the condition of the base of the dome at the famous shrine that houses the Virgin of Montserrat, as well as on the condition of the surrounding structure in order to conduct a study of possible dimensional distortions.

 

Toyser decided to scan the area from several different angles in order to obtain the maximum coverage of the inner roof.

 

Based on the cloud points of the inside, and using data on the outside, a full sectional view of the monastery was obtained involving a cross-sectional elevation of the base of the dome.

 

The work was performed at night with a high-precision total station and a Leica ScanStation 2.
